Why Sims 2 has been so broken the last ten years

This is down to my own research, and I'm not saying it is the one and only reason why the game is so broken these days, but I have some points worth mentioning.

So, you're bored one day. You remember this game you had so much fun playing a few years ago, or maybe as a child. It's The Sims 2!

The game has a few issues than from when you last remembered playing, so you search on google for some fixes for the tiny resolution, and among the countless posts you may find, you may find this:

Lesya's game is gorgeous!!! Oh, how can I get it to look like that?

So you, with a clean, vanilla (ugly) game you decide to download a few mods she listed, such as:

Skylines by GCKP (you can get optimised ones by me here)

Skies by Lowedeus (you can get optimised ones by me here)

Trees by Criquette (you can get optimised ones here)

No More Blurriness by Voeille (you can get optimised snow only here)

Cool! And then you notice some cheats than can give the game that open-world, interactive feel. Even better!

And you shove them into your folder and you boot up the game. Everything's going great!

Until...

You search hundreds of posts looking for the fix. Some recommend 3rd-party tools, but they seem to make the problem worse. You reinstall, finding you only wasted your time. Something has to be causing this, but you'd never guess it'd be the mods everybody swore by.

Well, in fact, it is. Partly.

I've struggled with pink flashing since 2019, when I reinstalled Sims 2 after I got a decent computer for once. I did everything above, searched for fixes, found Lesya's blog which was my primary inspiration. It was through Lesya's guide that I was able to make my game look pretty!

These mods, which are a staple in the modding community, are beautiful indeed... but what if I told you that the reason they're so beautiful, is because they're high-quality. With textures soaring up to 4k, when, hang on--

In 2004, 4k resolution was... probably unheard of. With the leading monitor size being 1024x768, what would be the point of using such huge textures on an engine that was designed for monitors of at least this size? Would you be able to see the detail of 4k on a monitor of that size? Definitely not.

The max visiting sims, okay, a little hit or miss. If your sims are all wearing high poly alpha CC, then it's a problem. If not, good luck.

Then comes the cheats I mentioned. The lot skirt cheat expands the view distance a significant amount. With the mergenhoodflora cheat, that displays more trees. Combining the two, what do you get?

A massive view distance, blinded by trees.

With skies and skylines with large textures up to 4k, and trees with textures up to 2k, The Sims 2 will collapse. It's like forcing an old man with health conditions to do 20 situps, again and again.

It'll overexert him, by the very least. And you're overexerting the game by cramming custom content that is not optimised for the engine TS2 was built on.

So please, next time you encounter the pink soup, please check your CC folders, and research changes and cheats before you put them into your game. You will enjoy the game much more if you do this, and won't encounter this problem so often.

Don't use Graphics Rules Maker

Instead, opt for a maxis original Graphics Rules uploaded here by Veronavillequiltingbee. It's essentially a rewrite of an old tutorial I made a long time ago.

Once you download the file from VVQB, open DXDIAG by pressing WinKey+R and typing 'dxdiag'.

This value I've underlined is what you need to put after seti textureMemory. Open the sgr file and do CTRL-F and input seti textureMemory.

Add the value from DXDIAG and then save it.

You can use GRM for adding your GPU to the game, but I do not recommend it for anything but that.

Optimising the game... inside the game

We're going to go into TS2 in-game settings for this one.

These settings are optimal if you play CC-heavy households. It will ease the load on your game to make space for the heavy CC you have in your current household. You can tweak these when you want to take photos outside, but for playing I recommend them all to be off - especially at community lots as there are lots of sims there.

I never see anybody talking about Object Hiding.

Object Hiding hides objects from floors that aren't in view. If you're playing downstairs, objects upstairs won't be rendered, thus minimising the load on your game.

I have reflections and smooth edges off because I use ReShade.

Snow on Ground is optional. Sometimes snow can cause pink flashing, I believe it's due to texture replacements that are huge in size too, Voeille's is 2k. I've linked a resized one above.

so my tablet is still on its death bed buuut i had a bunch of outfits from the sims saved from my introductory posts so here's the rest of them for my hss prime and hwu mcs!! i could spend hours on cas. ive had a very productive week. totally.

vivienne: vivi's style is very much inspired by the prep movement that happened in the late 2000s - early 2010s. though it's a little more lowkey and practical (as practical as a girl can get in an plaid skirt!). browns, whites, blacks and occasional dark greens are usually the colors she chooses to wear her love for the color brown is so strong that it even transferred to her hair! common clothing choices are skirts (duh!), mary janes or heels, sweaters, barrettes, necklaces and bow motifs on her dresses. she doesn't experiment with her style a lot (preferring to play it safe) though she falls in love with legwarmers after stumbling across 2000s j-fashion blogs in 2014. when she gets older she basically almost always wears dresses, and yes, with large bows on the front.

agnieszka: her style is a lot more spontaneous. though there is some common patterns. blacks with pops of bold colors, washed out denim, belts, caps/bucket hats, tights, platformed shoes and cropped tops. her style is quite modernized which is mainly bc ts4cc for 2010s fashion is very limited but i'd like to say she was just ahead of her time. after she stopped being so financially dependant on her family she would go to thrift stores and experiment with the clothes she bought from there. she never really belonged to any subculture but this is mainly due to her lack of identity within herself (which i'll go into a whole other time). i think this is what makes her more prone to playing around with colors unlike vivi who mainly sticks to the same browns/whites. when she gets older her style does mellow out a little but it still has the exuberant edginess that her style had at hollywood u.

fun little fact but in color psychology🤓brown is associated with dependability, resilience, comfort and warmth while black is associated with mystery, strength and protection. i think this could align with their characteristics but i DO NOT want to ramble on too long. bring up color symbolizing to me and i'll ramble for hours (studying graphic design and constantly having to work on color theory has ruined my life).

No changes were made to her body, facial structure, weight, etc. Her official biography made her out to be a hopeless romantic, and I zeroed in on that idea; hence what's more hopelessly romantic than the aesthetic of lovecore/cupidcore! (´♡‿♡`)

Making her was a lot of fun, but there were some troubles I encountered; namely her huge boobs proved to be something of a challenge. (//ω//) I wanted to use a shoulder-slung purses and bags on her but they would clip often because of her breasts or her thick body, which was a shame--plus size Sims need love too!

This game is like a fucked up version of wobbledogs but I gotta say I like the "feed this creature shit and see what happens" gameplay. The "fuck around and find out" genre if you will.

OOC: i've never actually heard of that game but yes JKBSDBKFBJKSDF i'm also having fun seeing what happens, everyone's submissions surprises me as much as it surprises everyone else, and i have fun seeing how users keep skirting around some deaths somehow or finding stuff i didn't expect them to BSDBFBSD

the relentless hunger death and the one upcoming was considered rare cuz i didn't expect users to submit so many insane submissions, but yall found them incredibly fast omg

for inspo tho (and an info dump),

i was considering several types of video game formats before trying this one. after tobaiblog (which is still on backburner i just gotta do some assets i just dont wanna do rn smh) i realised something like that is fun but can be overwhelming with how many options you had and a character who is unwilling to give any hints. i wanted something more simple and intuitive, and i think giving very limited ways to interact w the game provides a more authentic video game vibe while also being more intuitive.

initially i was messing w a labyrinth game concept and ill likely try it later down the line, w an rpg aspect to it and an end goal. but i felt that it was still complicated to interact with. i started thinking about other video game formats, like a visual novel, or pet care games. those things are simple in options for interaction, but i wanted some kind of horror undertone or element that would give more interest than just interact w the characters.

i decided on the idea of the pet care game but focused entirely on the feeding, it was simplified, there wasn't a lot of things to keep track of, and it allows users to be creative with the limitations given to them.

i was partly inspired by Can Your Pet (if u dont know anything abt it and like this blog, please try it, it's like a 10 or so min game iirc. dont look at spoilers if u want to play it cuz it has a twist at the end. idk if its still free but when it was popular it was hosted online for free on many game sites) and Happy Tree Friends to an extent, but also some analog horror content. subverting expectation of something cute into something weird or creepy as things progressed was primarily what i wanted to pull from these

the diary option was mulled over a lot as i wanted a way for users to interact directly w the characters made and i had a number of ideas for this at first. then i remembered in town of salem, you have a death note (haha) you can write in that will be shown if you die, and i was like oh an in game note system would be perfect to manipulate and also fit into the whole pet care sim vibe.

the death list was conceptualised as i needed a goal for players, and the cosmetic unlocks were also a fun reward. tho i think people at this point aren't going for looking for specific deaths but rather seeing how the character reacts to things (which is fair cuz i also figured half the appeal would be the character reaction to things, which is why i draw unique reactions to food 99% of the time~)

AU idea I had stewing for a while

I just wanted to see them as troublemaking teens who have a penchant for solving mystery and arson. Luckily the mysteries of Jurgen Leitner provide avenues for both. Who is Jurgen Leitner? Why does he have so many fucked up (if true) books? Why are a shit ton of them popping up in and around school campus? That's what this trio want to find out! Feel free to ask questions since this AU is not like, 100% complete or set in stone. Might be fun.

S1 v S4 JMart ft. Cat Jon

The first comic is set in season one. The first panel has Martin cautiously approach Jon who is at his desk, reading a statement while holding a mug. Martin says "H-hey Jon! Here's the files you asked for-" Jon then hisses at Martin and jumps away in his seat for the second panel. He throws his hands over himself, spilling the contents of his mug in the process. Alarmed cat ears appear on him as well as a tail. Martin looks surprised and jumps away from Jon, holding his hand in the air and the files close to his chest.

The second comic is set during the Scottish Safehouse Period. Jon and Martin are in bed during early morning with their arms over each other, Jon's on top of Martin's. In the first panel, Martin is trying to reach for his glasses while saying "Jon...we need to start the day..." Jon then weakly hisses in the second panel. His arm clutches Martin's shoulder and the alarmed cat ears and tail appear again. In the third panel, Martin gives up on reaching for his glasses and instead hugs Jon back. He smiles and says "Fine. I have no idea what movie they're watching but Tim's invested anyway. I thought this was only going to take me a couple of minutes but it actually took a long while because

A. I forgot how hard it is to draw multiple characters in one scene

One thing about Martin Blackwood that I think doesn't get brought up nearly as much as it should be is his love for "Retro" things.

Just Martin geeking out over things like rotary phones, 1950's dresses, polaroids, and all that stuff. Maybe he wears Cat Eye glasses to work? Who knows.

If you want JMart thoughts too imagine Martin going down to the Archives for his first day and seeing Jon in full grampa attire, wearing a bowtie like he's Carl Fredricksen from Up, and going "That's him. That's the man I'll fall for."

The great @vegan-kaktus​ made an awesome default replacement for the handheld game with a Nintendo Switch, which I love! I’ve made three two-tone recolours of it, for more variety, based on real joy-con controllers.

That’s it! The default replacement and CEP-extra linked above are required but not included, please read the original post carefully and download the required files if you want these recolours to show up in your game. These are compatible with Cyjon’s buyable electronics in case you’re interested.

I made these as a present for @itsdiamondeyesuniverse​​​, but she said you all should have them as well 😊. They’re 25 textures by NELL, pasted on this mesh. Another weird overlay box no one asked for! This time with prosthetic arms and legs in a cybor-like style. For teens to elders, both genders, including supernaturals. Textures are from this servo default by @criquette-was-here, edited by @episims and @andrevasims. Arms come in two flavours: brand new and worn out. There are no “worn out” legs, because the textures were too difficult to adjust to the sims’ bodies. And sadly, prosthetic legs will look weird on elder females (as shown here), because their ankles’ mapping is really cursed (sorry about that).

These overlays have very high priority and layer, meaning they should go over any other overlay (explained here). The overlay box is a set of wrenches from this set by Sandy (*cough* also found here for free *cough*), located in Misc/Dressers for 22§.

My #1 post of 2022

Another overlay box, this time with navel piercings! This is something I’ve made for @cobycobsy2k​. Ten colours, for TF-EF. I got the textures from here, but after being resized to 7 pixels wide they’re barely recognizable anymore. You can see a close-up here.

The box is a piercing display I’ve stolen from @deedee-sims​, found in Misc/Dressers for 23§. I tried to make it placeable on counters but kept getting “bad gosub tree number” errors. Sorry about that. At least you can use it with OMSPs!

I'm not celebrating the death of Elizabeth - I don't know her or anyone who knows her personally, anyone I know who acts like that is in a parasocial relationship, and if that's bad for regular people to have with celebrities, it's still bad if they're a head of state. Anyway, anyone who knows her personally I'm sorry for in the abstract way that like I'm sorry for other people hurting who have nothing to do with me but they're still people and I feel bad that people are hurting.

I'm absolutely celebrating the death of the Queen, because she represents colonialism (not that I and normal people haven't been complicit in it and don't need to work to decolonize ourselves) and the other horrible things that people have done in the name of the Queen and the British Monarchy. Also I find the fact that she's also apparently the head of the Church of England extremely concerning, especially since there is officially no Divine Right of Kings in England since they killed Charles I. She literally represents religious terror alongside colonialism

My #1 post of 2022

Btw, despite Canadians paying the most for internet, one of Canada’s three telecom companies has been down since about 5am EDT this morning, meaning that debit and banking has been down all day (and people can’t work and have no cell service), and they refuse to give an ETA on fixing it.

This company is currently trying to merge with another of the big three. You can imagine how thrilled people are at the idea of going to two companies with the scale of this nationwide outage.

Also, since 2017, all phones are supposed to be able to call 911 regardless of their service or if they have a SIM card, and they’re not currently working. 911 in most large (Ontario) cities seems to be working, except for rogers customers.

Also this happened last year in April for about 4 hours.

RQOTD:  Where is your OC from? What is/was their life like there? Do they  consider this place their home? What ties them there? Have they moved on  or do they stay there for their entire life, why or why not? (Feel free to answer and/or forward this to more people ♥)

I’ll answer this for both Amir and Dani since they are the only OCs of mine (so far) who are a couple, whose lives are intertwined. ❤️ The answers are based on a story I’m perpetually rewriting so please excuse me if there are any plot holes. I tried to mix realism with TS3 lore. A very long response is below the cut!! I don’t expect most people to read it all but if you do, just know that I appreciate you very much 💖

Also, the pics are unrelated, I just wanted to dress them up all fancy and take some pics of them together since I haven’t done that in a while hehe

Amir: Amir is from Egypt. His life there was materially comfortable, but his upbringing was very traditional and governed by rigid expectations. He never felt free to be his authentic self and always felt like an outsider in society. He does not consider Egypt his “home” in the truest sense of the word and he hasn’t visited his family in years, always citing school and work as excuses.

Several years ago, he came to the town of Sunset Valley, Simerica, to attend university on a scholarship. The Sunset Valley Institute of Technology (SVIT) was hardly prestigious, but he hadn’t been accepted to any of Simerica’s more famous schools because of his good-but-not-great high school grades. Still, he saw this as his one chance to leave his strictly controlled life in Egypt and see the world, so he took it.

His career goal is to become a journalist covering hard-hitting political and human rights topics. He wants to eventually move to a big urban city like Bridgeport, where there are more professional opportunities and a more progressive and open-minded culture. A recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, he is currently employed at a small local publication in Sunset Valley, writing mundane stories about the town’s goings-on, and he has no passion for it whatsoever, but at least it pays the bills. Amir feels disconnected from his family, his country of origin, and the white picket fence suburbia that is Sunset Valley. His co-workers are nice (some of them), and he has a few friends from SVIT, but the only reason that compels him to stay is because his first love Dani is here.  

Dani: Dani’s mother emigrated from China to Sunset Valley to pursue her career when Dani was just a baby. Dani grew up in Sunset Valley but doesn’t consider it “home”, because they have almost zero friends here and their relationship with their mother has always been strained.

After high school, Dani went on to attend SVIT because it was the nearest and most affordable post-secondary institution available, and there they met Amir. The two fell hard and fast for each other. Unfortunately, since they were both emotionally immature young adults, their relationship didn’t last. Their whirlwind romance ended on rocky terms. Despite that, they have a hard time forgetting each other, what with being each other’s first loves and being what feels like the only 2 queer people in a small town and all...

A recent graduate like Amir, Dani currently works a dead-end food service job in the town centre which just so happens to be near Amir’s place of work. Nothing ties Dani to Sunset Valley. They have always wanted to leave, and the only thing they care about is saving up enough money to make it happen. Amir often sees Dani around town in passing, but only dares to watch them from afar, since for all intents and purposes they are strangers. Unbeknownst to Amir, food service is only Dani’s day job... their secondary source of income pays much better, and has allowed Dani to build up a large amount of cash savings in a relatively short period of time.

By the time Amir musters up the courage to reconnect with Dani, to try and start over, it’s a little too late. Just when their relationship seems to be improving, Dani disappears with suspicious circumstances, leaving Amir with a million questions and only a few clues. Curious, perceptive and determined to get to the bottom of things (he’s a journalist after all), Amir is soon hot on the trail of the one person he can’t let go of. (I don’t want to spoil the rest of the plot hehe.)

For Amir, Egypt is not home, not in a physical or emotional sense, and neither is the town of Sunset Valley because he’s an outsider with no roots here. For Dani, they have no strong social ties to Sunset Valley, and their house doesn’t feel like a home even though they’ve lived here their whole life. Their familial roots may be in China, yet that is a place they’ve never been to.

One of the reasons why Amir and Dani are so attached to each other is because they both don’t feel like they belong or fit in anywhere. Sunset Valley is just a place they’re both living in for the time being. Neither of them has a place to truly call home, given their personal histories. But with that also comes the freedom for them to redefine what “home” means. Perhaps “home” can just be the peaceful apartment you return to at the end of the day. Perhaps “home” is not where you were born but where your chosen family is. Perhaps “home” is something you have to create for yourself, over and over again as your life goes on. Idk, it’s just an interesting concept to think about, especially for queer people, immigrants, and people with complicated family relationships.

I wrote such an in-depth answer because the topic of “home” is central to Amir and Dani’s story arc. Thank you for such a thoughtful question @lazysunjade and thank you, reader, if you made it to the end of this VERY LONG ESSAY :)

Someone on private message said thankful to me for posting the “EA Misinterpretation of China and Chinese Culture in Shang Simla World” that my post was informative and felt sorry for Chinese simmers for bad representation.

I'm sorry too for very late publishing the post to spread the information. It was actually critics I was supposed to complain to EA from year 2015, I did not make my Sim visiting Shang Simla afterwards due to disappointment and forgetting that world. When in 2020 pandemic, I decided write on tumblr. Writing in English language was quite difficult that was why it was long time to write and revise a lot in year 2021, then "forgotten", due to CC publications and uncomfortable incidents happened on my blog. Decided to publish on public to share knowledge to Simming community who are not familiar with Chinese culture. 

I decided to not mention who the person is to protect the person's identity. Glad that to hear the person (from U.K. and said has no Asian ancestry) said already realized the Shang Simla icon is Japanese gate from beginning playing TS3 World Adventures, wondered from long time ago why EA made that mistake.

I tag @yorithesims​ What’s your opinion as Japanese seeing your country’s building icon Torii Gate as icon symbol for Chinese country. Weird, right?  

The person asked again whether the clothing is accurate or not.

For clothing... I do wear Tang suit on Spring Festival or Chinese New Year in real life. Tang suit is for men and although it was from Qing dynasty it's also applicable for usage in modern time with more modernized design.

I use EA's Tang suit for dressing my Sim, Ridwan (he is Indonesian, ethnically Han Chinese descended from Hokkien speaking ancestors from Fujian, China). EA-made Tang suit with short sleeve here is modernized. Traditional Tang suit has long sleeves. 

And for traditional Tang suit with long sleeves converted for child version is HERE.

I have no problem so far with the clothing because TS3 style is cartoony, low poly, yeah I kind of understand the clothing don’t have too much detail with wrinkles. I don’t expect EA TS3 team too much for clothing because I know the employees were too overworked with tight deadlines, working other 2 worlds as well. If it's historically accurate or not, I will say the hanfu is.. too ordinary because its worn by poor peasant in ancient dynasty time but the sleeves are not long enough to cover wrist. 

EA employees must be getting the design from Hong Kong movies they had watched which showing scene of ordinary peasants. If you need more accurate ancient Chinese clothing, better download from actual Chinese CC creators. Hanfu differs in every dynasty, elegant, has complex design and patterns, definitely not resembling simple kimono robe after taking bath. 

Better ask to Simmers from China, Taiwan, Hongkong if you want to know more about hanfu and more traditional Chinese clothing. @pitheinfinite​​ Just in case you come back again to Sims community, please help explaining about traditional Chinese clothing, as you are woman who knows more about female clothing and Chinese history. Thank you in advance. 

As you know, Cheongsam (Cantonese language) or Qipao (Mandarin Chinese language) tight dress showing curvy body you Westerners see actually is modernized/Westernized version. The original Qipao is from Qing dynasty is HERE.

I notified Western CC creator  @murfeelee​ because I've seen her made compilation of TS3 Qipao. Just in case if she needed more information about traditional Chinese clothing, I gave the explanation here.  

Qipao made by EA (No sleeve, long skirt) is too outdated to be honest. I've seen the most popular Qipao among girls has sleeve and short skirt.

Martial arts clothing made by EA is quite alright, that is wushu clothing. Unlike Japanese & Korean martial arts, wushu does not have standard uniform. Usually wushu clothing does not have sash, some have sash on waist. Colors are variable. Japanese & Korean martial arts do have strict discipline policy, must wear white uniform, belt must be worn properly and must obey the teacher. If do not, you will get punishment from the teacher.  

Wushu vs Karate 

Just for your info, Chinese martial arts (wushu) do not implement belt colour system for ranking levels. It's Japanese and Korean martial arts that have white, yellow, green, blue, red, black belt colour. I'm former Taekwondo practitioner. Sash on wushu clothing is just a sash, not belt with ranking levels. 

As bonus here are Misua (Fujian-style wheat vermicelli), Sichuan-style noodles and oolong tea from Fujian I recently bought, they are imported straight from China. 

Real Shang Simla foods are supposed to look like this. I bought product from Taiwan too but because Shang Simla is supposed to depict Mainland China, Taiwanese product is excluded. Hehe. Peace, no war.   ✌️

Hey there! If you're still doing critiques, would you mind taking a crack at my pre-Beacon summertime Yang and Ruby? I've tried to incorporate some of the advice I've seen you give others before, which was really helpful when it came to Yang specifically. But yeah, I'd love to have your opinions, so I can take it to heart for when I eventually move on to the part of the story where I handle their Beacon looks. Thanks a bunch!

I actually saw this on my dash before it was sent in, and I really like the style you went for the two girls! Since their only meant to be casual summer clothes, rather than specifically Huntress outfits, I’ll be keeping that in mind and critiquing more for looks rather than function in a fight. 

Starting with Yang first since my girl could always use cuter outfits, I actually really like how this looks overall.

With the positive, I’m glad that she’s moved from brown, orange, red, yellow, rainbow, ultraviolet, that light only mantis shrimp can see in the show to just black, white, yellow and purple. Slimming down her colour palette to just those four colours really does wonders for her in terms of looks and getting across her designated colour; yellow.

The black sleeveless jacket looks great, and the quilted texture on the sides just adds to the look. The inner lining being red not only gives her Ruby’s colour and alludes to her eye colour when using her Semblance, but also pops against the dark neutral shade. It works pretty much like the red lining in Weiss’ colour, a good choice for some characters. 

Really, the way the colours are used is good, barring some parts. The black when coupled with the yellow not only contrasts great, but also gives off a more dangerous vibe. It’s very harsh between two colours, compared to the more subdued and warm browns and oranges that Yang uses in canon. Also, the yellow stripes on her boots look like lightning patterns and it reminds me of Kaminari from BNHA.

The purple socks also work really well compared to just orange. I’m not too sure about one being red, I understand it’s for Yang’s asymmetry vibe, but you could also get that across just with obvious different lengths. The red sock looks a bit too out of place when combined with a light lavender purple. 

Similarly, the purple shorts don’t look bad, I can see how they work in line with the rest of Yang’s outfit, but it’s a bit too much. The purple works great as an accent colour, similar to Weiss’ red. With a reasonable size that the shorts take up, it’d look a bit less much if it was more a neutral colour. Plus, you don’t wanna use too much of the colours outside of black, white and yellow, or you could start making the design look a bit jumbled. 

The yellow itself is used pretty well. You avoided using too much like some designs that slap Yang in bright yellow pants, and it looks really nice when combined with the other of Yang’s colours.

Either way, the actual outfit is great, and you did well with the colouring. Just toning back the purple and maybe bringing some yellow there to help it not disappear too much would help!

Ruby is really a character that you can’t go wrong with in designing, and you really did do great by her. 

It’s a simple design compared to the more lolita style that she wears in Beacon, but there’s still some aspects of it on her casual outfit here. I love the black lace frills on her shorts, and added belts at least help to secure her boots and such on her without being too cluttering. I also love that some of her design mirrors Yang, with the short sleeves and shorts under her skirt, it’s nice seeing how Yang has influenced her little sister.

The use of red with the cape is good. The red on her boots with the frills, laces and soles help to keep the red on her bottom half without getting lost in the giant cape she wears. Similar with her corset, the red laces and belt add some of the colour to the midsection, all without doing too much that it could again get lost in the cape.

I do wish she had some red on her arms, similar to Beacon, but the short sleeves and gloves are really cute. Maybe changing the black cuffs of her shirt to red, similar to Yang’s, could help with distributing some of her colour onto her arms.

While I do love the detail on the shorts, it is also kinda hard to see them with the black shorts and the black skirt. A red underskirt like Ruby wore before would help separate the two and let us see the detail you put in, while also helping her colour travel more. It’s good to think about colour placement with the cape, but you gotta be careful that Ruby doesn’t look too colourless when her cape comes off. 

Overall, still a great look at what Lil Red wears outside her Huntress clothes. 

As a side note, for both of them, I love that they wear a Yin/Yang necklace set. Not only does it tie the two together thematically, but the gold lining on Ruby’s is a good way of introducing Yang’s colour to her. Love it.

SpiderCakes Masterlist

People have asked about masterlists before and I’m usually too lazy to make them but I decided I’d organize today so here goes! I’ve made the list according to the themes/ tropes of the fics I’ve written. Starker unless labeled otherwise. A lot of these are ABO and also something else but they’re labelled accordingly. Appropriate warnings are attached to each story.

Confessions of a Slutty Omega- ABO AU in which Peter is a YouTuber and Tony watches his channel. More of a synopsis than an actual story.

Just The Tip

50′s AU- ABO also, based off this prompt: how about tony letting peter put just the tip in him as a reward, and they both like it so much they go all the way.

Young Peter- based off this prompt: Mmmm how about horny 16 yo Peter using the “just the tip” argument to convince guilty!Tony.

Late Bloomer Peter- based off this prompt: Omega!Peter is a very late bloomer. Neither he nor Tony realize Peter’s going into heat until it’s too late.

Just the Tip: ABO AU, dubcon, the one that started my fascination with this trope.

Teacher Student: This fit into like four categories on here but I put it here. Just the top with teacher Tony and student Peter.

Bratty Peter: ABO AU, based off this prompt:  maybe Peter is being a brat and says he wants to ride Tony but Peter teases him by only putting the tip in.

Half Asleep Peter: ABO AU, based off this prompt: Peter is half-asleep and Tony comes home late from work, Peter tells him he’s tired. Smut ensues.

Merperson Peter: based off this prompt: Tony takes down a rival corporation and discovers a hidden aquarium where they have captive merman!Peter. 

Manipulative!Peter: based off this prompt:  SIM being manipulated by an evil and/or mischievous Peter?

SIM AU: SIM!Tony manipulates MCU!Peter into coming home to his dimension with him.

Kidnapped Peter: based off this prompt: SIM had kidnapped Peter from the MCU dimension to replace his Peter that was murdered- SIM uses Extremis to wipe Peter’s memories.

Pre WIS AU- based off this prompt: Peter and Tony love each other but Peter is worried about his super strength when they fuck so Bucky steps in.

I made these as a present for @itsdiamondeyesuniverse​​​, but she said you all should have them as well 😊. They’re 25 textures by NELL, pasted on this mesh. If you haven’t used accessory stockings before, please read this post. This will work only with clothes that use Maxis naked legs and have higher than ankle shoes. There’s more info on the post linked before, and there you can find also a list of clothes that work with this acc. You can also check the tag on this blog for stockings-friendly stuff. This is for AF and TF, everyday only, no morphs, and includes a new mannequin-box (located in the dressers category for 45$). Mesh by Diamond Eyes is included, but you don’t need it if you already have the one we shared before.
